Was busy and *** it'd be gud to check the driverz. Searched and downloaded, but didn't go ahead and register or scan or pay. For three days, go on-line for 30 minutes, and the monitor goes BLACK. Reboot and it shows a blue screen error was the cause. Kicked the UNINSTALL into gear and everything is peachy keen ever since. ABSOLUTELY CRIMINAL.

I pray that nothing happens to my computer now because I am aware of how others make free money off connecting me to someone whom will corrupt someones property in an attempt to gain free service from you and then correcting what he or she did just to be accepted wanting to look like a hero after doing the dirty deed! One like Stephen Pace or Tracy Gribble something in the term of PC computer Repair in wilkes Barre Pa someone corrupted me like a Jaime Featherman in an attempt to cost me money and in return he whom corrupted me had gotten a discount on a computer and some sort of Insurance fraud on me, ssd fraud Dept of ed fraud, and all was done to cover up what they did to me and what was stolen!

How did I get connected to India?

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
I have used Driver Whiz in the past, and it was time to renew it. I did and I paid my $39.99 for it. But, in order to activate it, I had to call a certain number...which I did (stupidly!). I talked to this Indian man for about an hour, all the while trying to get off the phone. He wanted access to my computer, and he wanted me to pay him to clean my hard drive. When I laughed and told him, "No Way" he was upset. He finally agreed to refund $1.99 - a fee I hadn't even paid! Oh, how I wish I could have recorded the conversation! But, now what? Is Driver Whiz going to work? Should I just remove it from my computer and have the $40 go down the drain? Please advise. Janet Baker Litchfield, CT

Why would anyone allow access to a computer ?

Especially someone with an 800 number ?

You never told us what you were trying to do in the first place.

I made the same mistake recently, but sometimes it's kind of easy to do. I had Verizon FiOS for years.

A while back Verizon sold their email to AOL. Then Verizon sold FiOS to Frontier Communications (worst company ever, but that's another post). I had a problem with email, so, not knowing exactly where to turn, I called Frontier. They said I had to call AOL.

I said, can you give me their phone number. They said, just a minute, then gave me an 800 number to call, which I did. Now, thinking, because my internet service provider had given me the number, I believed I was talking to AOL support, an assumption the Indian guy confirmed. Except that I wasn't.

And, yes, I let the "AOL rep" login to my machine. I'll skip the rest, except to say that, upon further examination, I figured out the the Frontier rep had just looked on Google for the AOL number and given me an 800 number that was contained in AN AD.I don't know who's dumber, me or Frontier, but I'm the one put at risk.

And when I called Frontier to suggest they tighten up their tech support procedures so as not to give out phony phone numbers to their customers, they told me there was nothing they could do about it! (As I said above, worst company ever).

Installation of Driver Whiz

I was given an option to call a 1800 number to have the software license activated. I called that number and eventually was connected to a scam person who tried to sell me a software package to the tune of $499.00 to remove what was supposedly Trojan horse software in my computer identified as csrss.exe. What a bunch of baloney. I told him I needed to use my phone and when he continued with his tirade I hung up the phone and shut down my computer. He immediately called back and I told him again that csrss.exe was OK and was part of the operating system. I don't know how your software got me to that ***, but you have a problem. I disputed the Paypal account to Driver Whiz and removed your software from my computer. I would very much like to know how this *** managed to hi-jack your software and I am sure you would like to know that also.

Dont Use- Over Priced Salesmen

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

I downloaded Driver Whiz because my laptop wasn't operating with my printer. I then called the number which lead to a Tech.

who reviewed my computer programs and showed me a ton of programs which were 'stopped' on my computer. He went on to say he could fix all the errors for $200. I stated I'll get a second opinion. He then kept saying he already began to fix the problems (The screen resembled a heartbeat monitor).

I told him NO I didn't agree with the repair cost and to stop his repair. The Tech. said his lowest price would be $129. He wouldn't take no for an answer.

He kept trying to pressure me into purchasing NOW. When I told him I didn't agree with the pricing he tried to convince me it was too late for him to stop his repairs. I closed all of my computer windows I told him I wasn't interested then hung up the phone. I was finished dealing with him.

Or so I thought. He then opened up my notepad and began writing to me. Talk about pushy! Once again I told him no and closed the notepad.

I wouldn't recommend their service. They are Up Sale Salesmen.

The next day I spoke to a computer technician at work who informed I should never pay so much for a driver. Check with your printer manufacturer online fortheir Free printer drivers.

Shake down for $150.00+

I found the site named "Driver Whiz" and downloaded their program which scanned as promised for outdated drivers on a WinXP PC. Copious number usually but it only turned up 10 items including the Printer driver I was originally seeking. Download resulted in a phone number (1-800-xxx-xxxx)which lead to a man with repeat expressions constantly peppered thru the conversation. He basically asked me everything I had already entered on the site. Not a nice feeling! He had me provide a remote log in for him where he supposedly finished the confirmation process so that I could start using the product. He commenced to query me about other telephones and computers within the household. He navigated to the Windows Drivers file to show me all the drivers that were stopped. He claimed this is why my printer didn't work. He wanted to ship me off to a local rep presumably in California and the additional fee would be over $150.00 to correct the driver issues with my system. Mind you, I only wanted an HP DJ6980 driver, not an overhaul. Now I am stuck searching my credit card to see what else he did. I don't know why he went down this path and he wouldn't take "no" and "I am not interested" as an answer! I ended the call and connection at that point.

Driver Whiz - Software Review from Hampton, Virginia
Updated by user Oct 04, 2015

I heard back from company who charged my account for auto renewal of Driver Whiz for $29.99 plus international fees which I did not sign up for in April 2015. About two weeks after contacting them they reimbursed my account the renewal cost and fees.

No further issues. Complaint closed.

Superb Customer Care. Instant FULL Refund.

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

I was desperate for a Driver for my old HP Printer in Windows 7. HP site was no help. But Google led me to Driver Whiz.

I was sure it would be a free download. But- like so many here- I had to pay or else! I was told I had several out-of-date Drivers on my PC. It failed to update any and gave me no Driver for my HP printer.

From my reading of the Reviews here I asked for a refund of my Money.

It came back within minutes.

So what can I say ? Concepts like "Drivers" give me high blood pressure & make me tense. So I have to first ask MYSELF questions before I criticize the Software.

But what can I say of Customer Service ? For me it was simply FANTASTIC. I am aged 68 and have had a Computer since the 1980s (Clive Sinclair/ Amstrad). I have never experienced such helpful Customer Service.

So- in conclusion- I must give these Guys 5 Stars for their Customer Service. In this universe and in this life one cannot ask for any more. Ad multos annos to Driver Support Update.

It is possible that Windows 7 does not support my old Printer. (Otherwise HP would have a Driver on their website- surely).

Stop planting viruses into my computer!

I've already "dismissed" the Driver Whiz ads twice, and I know that Driver Whiz plants a virus or viruses into my computer prior to each ad on my desktop that talks about how many of my drivers are out-of-date and my so-called need to download Driver Whiz in order to get rid of the virus(es) that is/are meant to make me think that I have so many out-of-date drivers. If my computer continues to have a virus or viruses on it due to Driver Whiz planting it/them into my computer, then I will sue Driver Whiz on the accounts of "destruction of property" and "false advertising." Given that today is December 4, 2014, any virus(es) that Driver Whiz has planted or would plant into my computer for any reason whatsoever better be removed from my computer and stay off of my computer as of December 6, 2014, or I file the lawsuit that I described.

Paid for them to download the software and driver

At least I had enough smarts to pay with Discover card, but its a scam and they told me my computer was all mess up and it was After I had them. It took over 3 hours for my computer man to clean it up and it still isn't right. I hope someone can stop them. They are so slinky. Even if I don't get my money back, it was a lesson. It passed Norton somehow. I see this has been going on for years, it seems there should be a way to stop this. The advertisement pops up when you are in another webpage. I wish I could remember which one. Maybe "Discover" can get my money back. I'm an older women and I noticed much younger people got caught in the sane scam.
